Errant History

Kropotkin bemoaned
That the two
Have so often happened together

– revolution and violent uprising –

That observers
Tend to mistake
The one

For the other.

..................................
the school’s on the hill

lower main street is flooded
again
the restaurant is closed
so we’ll have to have coffee
at home
I remember the year…
the ducks were confused
--probably happy,
the children, too,
though they had to go to school
anyway
