poem || David Jalajel



fair

conspicuously bad offensive hidden
in reprehensible miscarriage mildly
open to unbiased fussy teachings
on favoured rights the knowing disregard
reigning in secret wants to hide in moral
dismissiveness of perfect scorn to help  
rehearse the slights that couldn’t be improper
love mistaking arrant breath arresting
plainspoken forthright missives in sincere
egregious ways implying aggravated
shock often less obnoxious than to shrug
off glaring violations prove compelling
the patiently contrived deep sense of shame
plaintive cries and streaming tears conceive
