poem || Jeff Harrison

Hundred On The Path

a hundred
goats against
whom else
may make
war, golden
trumpet,

scarcely
current
in all the
w o r l d
? ? ? ? ?

similar to:

rodents,
workers
of magic,
killed the
tiger

the tiger,
Herr Bib
posits, was
Wormswork,
who had given
up hope of
human origin

and elephants

also, the

very elephants
who are the
fever of warriors -

they hurtle
the
leafy screen,
more
gorgeous

more
gorgeous
are
the
elephants
than waffles,
than
the
weight
of rifles.

parasol:
there
are ma-
ny things
to acco-
mpany

there's no
one morning
to The Fear

a different
direction is
a brute upon
itself (fanfare,
the palace, the
immense bare
foot), though
lepers lie w/in
its pow'r
(quarry-mad devil)
