poem || Jeff Harrison

Thistles

the slouch thief's here, oh
to skull him impossibly
hissing red between leaves

how to shroud, ah, uh
how to dull him, his
mouth strikingly mumbling:

picture me in a paralysis translucent
jachu-jachu dancers scrub my number
though initially these dancers

devised wings for any given thief's narration
what else lies in back of thistles?
what dazzlement... another new-gagged play?
